Well, we are in the future. In 1989, BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II sent Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) to the year 2015 and we saw what that time would look like. We’re in 2015, and a few companies are paying tribute to that film with some fun products. Pepsi is putting out “Pepsi Perfect” which was featured in the film and now Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is poking fun at one of their franchises and featuring JAWS 19, a film that was mentioned in BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II.
Credit to Universal for their approach and nods to some current trends and some other franchises…namely FRIDAY THE 13TH. I would like to see some of the sequels they noted. I also found it very funny that the latest release is “really, really personal.”
BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II has given us so much and I’m happy to see that these companies are having some fun with the predicted future that the film saw as they stood in 1989.
