If you mention the name, Norman Reedus, most folks would say, “Yeah that cool guy, Daryl, The Walking Dead,” however before, the Walking Dead, Daryl had made a name for himself in the Movie world and in this gem, he plays, John Rollins, a struggling crop farm owner.

John lives with his wife Mary, (Heather Stephens) and their two children Lindsay (Claire Holt) and Michael (Laurence Belcher). Now has regards their farm, the crops are dying, the water pump broken and crows are eating away the corn, so therefore John is finding it hard to meet his bills, meaning debts are mounting and more importantly, John’s relationship with his wife his struggling.

John is desperate for a change of luck, then while in the barn he discovers a secret hatch and in there he finds a scarecrow, one hell of a ugly one and on discovery of that scarecrow his luck begins to change,

Suddenly a Jude Weatherby (Richard Riehle) turns up with a six pack of beer for John, he claims to be his neighbour and talks John in to erecting the scarecrow in his cornfield.
And the moment it is erected he begins to hear children playing in the corn field and yet cannot see any, is he losing his mind or is there something sinister at work?

It isn’t too long before the crows that had been eating away at his cornfield die and any person that maybe a threat to the farm such has the financial adviser dies has well has a friend of his wife and with their deaths marks ill fortune for John. It seems John’s luck has changed; also the sprinklers seem to just come alive again, therefore the cornfield growing.

Though all is not great for John has he begins to have bad dreams or perhaps visions, then there is the question of who this Jude Weatherby and his wife is? Do they exist? And the police suspect John in the murders. His John losing his mind or is the scarecrow responsible for the twisted fortune?

One thing is for sure, it leads to an ultimate climax with John and his family up against one ugly looking Scarecrow…

It leaves me to say, if you haven’t seen this movie do give it a watch, as there is fine acting, a nice build up of drama with a satisfying finish…
