“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has just released iZOMBIE: The Complete Third Season on DVD. It is also available on Blu-ray, courtesy of Warner Archive Collection. The DVD set features all 13 episodes from the third season along with deleted scenes and the 2016 Comic-Con Panel.

iZombie continues the storyline from season two and it’s intense finale and features Liv (Rose McIver) and her secret zombie life in Seattle. When zombies are murdered in the first episode, the realization hits that some humans know of their existence and if that is the case, it’s only a matter of time before a war on the undead ensues. This leads to the formation of a zombie army, ready for D-Day (Discovery Day), and we get the tone for the season set rather quickly.

More and more people begin turning into zombies and we get a better window into how humanity reacts to them and the idea of them being a reality, leading to some hysteria. As the numbers grow, the cast of main characters cope with it as much as they can and they start pointing to a cure that Ravi (Rahul Kohli) is working on. We also get some mystery throughout, where the viewer discovers who is a zombie and who isn’t.

iZombie: The Complete Third Season is much like the first two seasons. It starts off setting the tone and then gradually increases the pace and intensity, leading to a satisfying and exciting finale. Rose McIver is a standout, as she always is, and the rest of the cast does an incredible job as well. This show is fun and clever. I highly recommend it
