Javier Botet (REC, Mama) and Javier Bódalo (The Devil’s Backbone, Ghost Promotion) will be part of the cast of “Hidden Devil”, an ambitious terror and fantastic mythology short film which will be shot next year.
Javier Botet and Javier Bódalo, which worked together in “His Majesty Minor” by Jean-Jacques Annaud, will share frames again in “Hidden Devil”, an ambitious fantasy short film directed by Fran Mateu and produced by Cafetico Films S.L. This is the second project of the director, and his previous work, “Dead Story”, harvested several awards, nominations (including the Méliès awards) and exhibitions in about 130 films festivals around the world.
Javier Botet played the Medeiros girl in the “REC” sagas, the haunting “mom” from the movie “Mama” by Andrés Muschietti, or the character of Luismi in “Witching & Bitching” by Álex de la Iglesia. His acting work extends into many other titles such as “As Luck Would Have It”, “The Last Circus”, “Everyone dies at the end” (in which he also directed a fragment), “People in places”, or his recent work in “Crimson Peak”, the new film by Guillermo del Toro, which will be released next year.
Javier Bódalo played the character of Pepito in “Time for the Brave” by Antonio Mercero, and has worked in titles such as “The Devil’s Backbone” by Guillermo del Toro, “Ghost Promotion” by Javier Ruiz Caldera, or the recent “Faraday”, by Norberto Ramos del Val. On TV, he’s participated in shows like “Los Serrano”, “Central Hospital”, “Tell me how it happened”, “Old Bridge’s Secret”, “Red Eagle” or “The Mysteries of Laura”.
The team of “Hidden Devil” has not yet announced the rest of the cast, even though they have said that there will be more surprises in this short story that will be shot next year in Spain. Until then, the production company will continue with the preparations and will start a crowdfunding campaign after summer where the public may join this project by purchasing limited edition products that orbit around the world of “Hidden Devil”.
